Pole Pole

There are just seven spacious suites overlooking Chole Bay, enabling a guests a private island experience. Built on stilts, the wooden suites are self-contained and feature large private verandas, with all suites leading down to the dazzling white bay. Two Asali Suites contain an extra room that can host up to four people, providing an ideal setting for families.

Guests can explore the best of Mafia Island Marine Park with the luxury resort's affiliated dive centre, Mafia Island Diving. Expect to see spectacular reefs and drop offs, as well as over 400 species of marine life, from multicoloured nudibranch to schools of barracuda and reef sharks. Pole Pole also offers a plethora of additional excursions to keep the most zealous entertained, from a trip to Chole Island to see Comoro bats, to visiting the most famous traditional shipyard in Tanzania at Jibondo Island.

Dining fuses local cultures and traditions with Italian style. Most of the organic produce is purchased on the island, and guests can expect to feast on delicious fresh fish salads and homemade pasta dishes. Swahili dishes are also made once a week.
