Location: The Azores
Baía da Barca is set in a beautiful location on the island of Pico right by the sea, you can while away the hours watching the waves crashing on the volcanic rocks below the hotel.
This is a modern, self-catering apartment hotel made up of 10 apartments in total including two 2-bedroom apartments, many with views over the sea. It is a modern, comfortable option great for those who want to cook for themselves (breakfast is included though).
For such a small hotel, there are quite a few facilities including a lovely pool (salt water) with sunbathing area directly overlooking the sea, a small spa with Jacuzzi, sauna and water massage, a restaurant and lounge area.
The hotel is around a 10-minute drive from the main town of Madalena where there are various restaurants and bars. It is also here that most of the dive centres and other activities such as whale watching are based. So all in all it is well-positioned to explore the island both above and below the waves.
Why We Love It
There is a natural rock pool right in front of Baía da Barca where you can swim and enjoy being in the sea protected by the volcanic rock encircling it. There are no beaches in Pico!
