Toyapakeh
Toyapakeh is considered to be one of the best dive sites in Nusa Penida, renowned for its beautiful coral formations and great visibility. The site is just a short boat ride from Padang Bai in Bali, making it easily accessible for a morning or afternoon dive.
Usually enjoyed as a drift, Toyapakeh lies in the heart of the Ceningan Channel, which is permanently fed by fast-flowing, nutrient-rich waters that attract huge schools of fish as well as large pelagic species.
Our recommendation for Toyapakeh diving is to head into the water at high tide when the current isn't too strong. The dive begins at a depth of around six metres, with divers drifting along a coral plateau studded with large coral bommies, slowly making their way down the slope.
The wildlife at Toyapakeh is spectacular, with everything from turtles to starry puffers to giant trevally. Between July and October, lucky divers might even come across a mola mola or two.
