Resembling a coastal Filipino village, the Miniloc Island Resort has pure charm with the backdrop of magnificent limestone cliffs and the crystal clear waters in front of the resort are teeming with marine life.
Another of the El Nido Resorts, Miniloc Island Resort features accommodation that is more rustic and native in design in comparison to its sister resort on Lagen Island. Although accommodation is slightly simpler it is still very comfortable and the advantage of this island is that it is bang in the middle of the dive sites and closer to the natural attractions and activities that are on offer.
The water cottages, cliff cottages and garden cottages are authentic in style and if you are happy with less space, are absolutely charming. Newer additions include the beach cottages and seaview rooms, which offer a bit more luxury and space should this be what you are after.
With more than 20 dive sites to choose from, there is much to enjoy here for the underwater enthusiasts. For the most part, the diving here is more about the small stuff with healthy coral reefs being home to lots of critters; in particular nudibranchs! The fish life is also very good with large schools of snapper often found hovering in the current above the flourishing reefs. Don't miss the huge cabbage coral gardens!
Although diving is a major draw to El Nido, there is so much more to get your teeth stuck into on a trip out here. On arrival at the resort, you will be met by your personal activity coordinator who will go through the different experiences on offer, so you can do as much or as little as you like while staying here.
Some of the activities on offer include a boat trip into the big and small lagoons just a few minutes away from the resort, hiking through the forests to see monkeys and a variety of other wildlife, island hopping with lunch on a white, sandy beach and visits to natural attractions such as cathedral cave. Whatever you want to do, the staff here are extremely helpful and make you feel welcome from the word go.
The restaurant design is Filipino in style, creating a very authentic atmosphere and is just a stone's throw away from the beach providing wonderful views of the bay. Along the beach front, sun-loungers make for the perfect place to relax in the afternoon, looking out at the stunning landscape, if you decide to take a rest from the activities.
The Miniloc Island Resort is a great place for families, the young or in fact anyone who wants to experience an exotic location with great diving and much more, all at your fingertips.
Snorkel with one and a half metre jacks and hundreds of sergeant majors, just in front of the resort.
