Passport & Visa Requirements

Entry Requirements for the Maldives (Maldives Visa Requirements)

A visa is mandatory for entry into the Maldives. British nationals can obtain a tourist visa upon arrival, which is valid for a maximum of 30 days. To be eligible for this visa, you must possess a valid onward or return ticket and have sufficient funds to cover the expenses of your stay. It's important to note that overstaying the 30-day limit is considered an offense and so must be avoided.

Passport Validity

Ensure that your passport meets the following requirements for travel to the Maldives:

  • Your passport must have a validity of at least six months from your date of arrival in the Maldives.
  • The passport must be machine-readable.

Additional Requirements

For information regarding the necessity of a yellow fever certificate, please refer to the National Travel Health Network and Centre's TravelHealthPro website.

For comprehensive details and guidance on entry requirements, it is advisable to get in touch with either the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives in the UK or the Department of Immigration and Emigration in the Maldives. They can provide you with up-to-date information and assistance regarding your travel documentation and entry requirements.
