When To Travel
All of the holidays we create are completely tailor-made to you
Day 1: International Flight
Your luxury holiday begins today. Head to the airport, speed through security and settle into the lounge with a glass of bubbly before your 11-hour flight to Los Angeles. You'll have a short layover in LA before catching your nine-hour connecting flight to Papeete. The flight will arrive the following day so be sure to catch some zzz's and perhaps apply a face mask so that you wake up feeling fresh and ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
Day 2: Papeete to Bora Bora
One final short flight stands between you and barefoot luxury. From Papeete, you'll catch a 50-minute flight to Bora Bora. As you fly towards French Polynesia's leading lady, take in the turquoise waters. Upon arrival, you'll be driven 30 minutes and transferred to your topical overwater oasis via boat. Once unpacked, lie above sapphire waters on the catamaran net on your private balcony and watch the abundant marine life below you as you allow the sun's rays to warm your skin.
Day 3: Dive with rays and sharks
Wake up fresh on French Polynesia time to the sunlight peeking through your linen blinds. After a fresh breakfast, head out on a private boat tour to snorkel with rays and sharks. Exploring the waters of To'opua, you'll meet several shark species, including blacktip, lemon and silvertip sharks. Keep an eye out for gliding stingrays as well, as you visit three different snorkelling sites with your private guide.
Days 4-8: Luxuriate in luxury
How you choose to spend the next four days is up to you. Perhaps you'll enjoy snorkelling over the colourful corals in the lagoon on your doorstep. Or, how about an escape to the secluded and private Motu Tapu, the most photogenic islet in the South Pacific? If you want to embrace some Polynesian traditions, try your hand at making leis with local flowers, learn how to open a coconut to drink the juice fresh, or discover how the ancestors of this beautiful land navigated with a va'a initiation cruise around the lagoon on an outrigger canoe. End your days in the oversized infinity pool, taking in the fiery reds and oranges of the setting sun while sipping on a Mai Thai - the most famous French Polynesian cocktail.
Day 9: Onwards to Tetiaroa
Wake up slowly, take in the last glances of this white sand and black lava cove before you're transferred back to the airport for a private 20-minute flight to Tetiaroa. As you approach, take in the views of this atoll as it emerges from the vastness of the ocean, an untouched oasis encircled by a coral reef. On arrival, you'll be greeted and driven a few minutes to your luxury villa which is cocooned by lush foliage. Settle in and then lounge on the powder-soft sands as you take in the views of the blue-on-blue seascape.
Days 10-16: Luxuriate in nature
Wake up in a secluded villa on this private atoll and spend the morning on your personal beach. These days are yours to spend as you wish.
When you're ready to explore below the surface, the gin-clear waters welcome you with their warm temperatures and thriving marine life. The coral gardens surrounding the atoll beckon divers to submerge with reef sharks, rays and schools of fish in a silent ballet under the waves. On another day, perhaps opt for a stand-up paddle board to explore the lagoons at your own pace.
For the bird lovers, take a guided boat tour of the shimmering lagoon to a protected motu and watch seabirds playfully dance over the water before exploring lush jungles to the soundtrack of tropical bird song.
If you're after some R&R, spend a day in the Varua Spa, rejuvenating your body with ancient Polynesian treatments, and schedule in a yoga session and steam bath. And if you can tear yourself away from your villa (with its private dining), then enjoy the two restaurants and bars on the island, which are headed up by a Michelin-starred chef.
Days 17: Home Time
Sadly, it's time to leave the lap of luxury and begin your journey home. After a lazy breakfast in the sun, you'll be collected from the hotel and transferred back for your flight from Tetiaro to Papeete. During your layover, before your flight to LA, relax in the lounge and reminisce about the rest that you felt, the nature that you embraced and the calm that you felt before returning to the 'real world'.
