Once the retreat of an eccentric Italian Duchess, Hotel Esencia is a chic beachside hotel on Mexico’s Yucatán coast, and still retains that feeling of a private home.
The Hotel Esencia's main house is a beautiful white washed villa set in the centre of a 50-acre estate. With just 38 suites and 3 villas set just off the beach front, this is a relaxing and chic place to lay your head. The rooms are decorated with all white interiors with flashes of colour from contemporary art and traditional woven rugs. Each room comes with a private plunge pool and large bathrooms.
Breakfast is served to your room each morning by the charming and friendly staff, who really make the property what it is. Lunch and dinner are served in the hotel's gourmet restaurant, with a focus on seafood and dishes with a Mediterranean accent or they can set up private dining for you should you wish.
There are two swimming pools as well as a tranquil spa and yoga sessions. The beach is a real draw as it is where sea turtles come to make their nests. They can also arrange diving for you on a personalised basis. There is no dive centre but an instructor spends much of the week at the resort. Hotel Esencia makes an ideal spot to relax and unwind and from which to dive.
