Harbour Island Diving Holidays: An Overview
If you are not looking to travel too far from New Providence, Harbour Island is home to a 3-mile pink sand beach and can be reached by ferry from New Providence.
Located off the northern cost of Eleuthera island, Harbour island is just a short flight or ferry ride away from New Providence but with the advantage of being much less built up and therefore feels more remote.
One of the major draws to this island is the 3 mile long pink sand beach which lies along the east coast and is simply beautiful, wherever you are staying! The island itself can be explored by golf buggy and you will be enchanted by the colonial-style colourful buildings and flowers lining the streets. For the classic Bahamian experience, head to the west side of the island and enjoy some conch fritters at one of the local restaurants that are built on stilts over the water.
When it comes to the diving, Valentine's dive centre is well set up to take you to some of the most exciting dives around the island. The famous 'current cut' is an absolute must (subject to conditions!) and is high speed drift dive perfect for spotting pelagics.
