The Seychelles has a well-deserved reputation as a world-class honeymoon destination, thanks to its high-end hotels and resorts, postcard-worthy beaches and lush tropical jungle.

While sunset cocktails and couples massages are high up on the agenda for most visitors, a luxury diving holiday in the Seychelles is the perfect choice for anyone looking to discover amazing dive sites alongside five-star luxury. The Seychelles is teeming with private island escapes, and you'll have a hard time choosing between places like the Four Seasons at Desroches Island, Alphonse Island, or one of our other favourite hotels.

The waters around the Seychelles are warm throughout the year, making it possible to dive all year-round, however, the best time to go luxury diving in the Seychelles is in April, October and November, when the seas are calm and the boats can reach remote dive sites. While late May to September is whale shark season, high levels of plankton can lower visibility.

If you find yourself staying on a private island while luxury diving in the Seychelles, you'll be lucky enough to have incredible dive sites just steps from the shore. The Seychelles is filled with vibrant coral reefs, home to an abundance of creatures such as bumphead parrot fish, turtles and colourful reef fish. It's also common to encounter tuna, barracuda and reef sharks during dives.

Other than stunning house reefs, some of our favourite dive sites in the Seychelles are the Ennerdale Wreck and Shark Bank. The Ennerdale Wreck is an advanced dive site just off the shore of Mahe Island. The large British oil tanker was sunk in the 1970s and now lies at a depth of 30 metres. Although the centre of the ship was destroyed as it was sunk, the stern is in relatively good condition, with the propeller and wheelhouse intact. Divers can discover everything from small invertebrates to groupers to nurse sharks.

Just under five miles northwest of Mahe lies Shark Bank, a huge granite plateau that plunges down to the ocean floor. There's plenty to see between 18 and 30 metres, including a range of tropical fish, white-tip reef sharks, large schools of yellow-striped snappers and stingrays.

Above the water, the Seychelles has plenty to keep you entertained, from relaxing on stunning beaches like Anse Lazio to hiking to some beautiful viewpoints.
