Seychelles at a Glance
The Seychelles, comprising 115 islands scattered across the Indian Ocean, each possess a unique allure. Whether it be basking in the sun on secluded beaches, diving with schools of colourful fish over lush coral gardens or cruising over its cerulean seas, island hopping to your hearts content, the Seychelles presents a classic case of too little time and so much to do. That's where we come in with our guide, unveiling the obvious and not-so-obvious charms of each corner of this fabled paradise.
Mahe island, considered the gateway to the archipelago, plays host to its capital, Victoria, and a plethora of bustling markets, rainforests of Morne Seychellois National Park and the scenic beaches of Beau Vallon and Anse Takamaka. If off-grid adventure calls, head 700 miles off the south coast of Mahe, to the Aldabra Group, for some of the most remote diving, where the marine life appears pleasantly unchanged. Praslin is a haven for explorers, home to the incredible May Valley and its sea coconuts. Make sure to spend some time at the legendary beaches of Lazio, Georgette and La Digue, which beckons with Anse Source d'Argent and is possibly one of the Seychelles' - and world's - most photogenic beaches. Embark on an adventure on the untamed Silhouette Island with its cloud forest or head to Bird Island for its avian paradise, as well as fish, dolphins and whales in the adjacent Indian Ocean.
