Spacious villas are either dotted along two miles of pristine beach or stilted over the lagoon, some of which are interconnecting - ideal for families. Interiors are bright and breezy, with floor to ceiling windows leading out onto a private terrace with sunbeds.

The resort features a fully equipped dive centre, where guests can explore the Maldives' characteristic pristine reef in crystal visibility. The island is also in the perfect location to see whale sharks on their annual migration.

There are a staggering eight restaurants and five bars offering delicacies for every palate. Guests can feast on international fare, dine on divine sushi, teppanyaki and robata or even visit a cosmopolitan take on a local night market. The resort also features the Maldives' only fully fledged beach club, Beach Rouge. LUX* even have their own island-roasted coffee and ice cream brand, ICI (try the Sicilian pistachio and Madagascan vanilla flavours). There's an option to go all-inclusive when booking so guests needn't worry about their spending habits.

LUX* Maldives caters to the active, with flyboarding, hoverboarding and jet-surfboarding, as well as tennis, volleyball, beach yoga and cycling. Guests can get creative in the Junkart Studio and Gallery or, for the more R&R inclined, there's a LUX* Me spa with a wellness concierge to personalise your treatments according to your whims. There's also a kid's club to keep the little ones pre-occupied whilst in the evenings, guests can watch a film alfresco at cinema paradiso.
