The Arenui liveaboard is a traditional Indonesian wooden vessel sailing the waters of Komodo, Maluku, Raja Ampat, Banda and beyond to provide incredible diving without sacrificing luxury or comfort.
There are just eight cabins, accommodating for only 16 guests, and all have en-suite bathrooms and adopt themes inspired by handicrafts from each of the Indonesian provinces. The Master Suites, Deluxe Twin Cabins and Deluxe cabins are all spacious thanks to the vessels design which optimises deck space.
Taking up the central space on the Arenui's main deck is the restaurant and lounge area which reaches across the full width of the vessel, behind which two chefs busily cook up a storm. In addition, the vessel also has a sky restaurant and lounge for al fresco dinning.
Facilities are spread out over two decks and include all the mod-cons necessary including two LCD screens for movie viewings or dive briefs, oversized sofas for lounging, an iMac workstation, three outdoor areas, day beds and a dive deck to kit up.
There are 22 crew members on board (a good ratio by our books) to ensure a first class- experience. Most notably, the three divemasters (Wawan, Ronald and Joni) are rated amongst the most knowledgeable in the region and guests can enjoy everything from black sand muck dives to crystal clear drift dives. Return to the Sky Lounge post-dive, take an outdoor shower to cool off and enjoy a massage on the deck.
